Williamson & Croft Wealth Management and Will Solicitors
Williamson & Croft Wealth Management is the financial planning side of Williamson & Croft, the Manchester accountancy, tax and advisory firm. It gives independent financial advice to business owners, professionals and families, from retirement planning to passing wealth on.
Alongside the advice you already get from Williamson & Croft, we prepare and check your will and lasting power of attorney so the documents match the plan. Williamson & Croft looks after the money, and we look after the legal side. As a Williamson & Croft client, your first consultation call with us is free and there is no obligation. Our fees are fixed and published, from £150 + VAT for a single will or £275 + VAT for a pair of mirror wills, and you know the price before any work starts.
Looking after the people behind the firm
A financial plan sets out where your money goes during your life. A will decides where it goes after you.
If the two are drafted at different times by people who never speak, they can pull in different directions. Business owners face extra questions, such as what happens to company shares and who can make decisions if you are unable to. A lasting power of attorney lets someone you trust deal with your finances, and your health and welfare, if you lose capacity. For Williamson & Croft clients, putting these documents in place while the plan is fresh means the advice and the paperwork tell one story.

Questions from Williamson & Croft clients
Cannot see yours? Ask it on your free consultation call.
I am a Williamson & Croft client. How does this work?
You book a free consultation call with us. A named adviser talks through your family, your assets and what you want to happen. If it helps, you can share the outline of your financial plan so your will reflects it. We confirm the fixed fee on the call before any work starts, and you approve a draft before anything is signed.
Will my wealth manager see my will?
Only if you want them to. Your will is a private legal document between you and us. Many people find it useful for their adviser to know the broad shape of it, so that pensions, investments and gifts line up. You decide what is shared, and nothing is passed on without your agreement.
Do I need a lasting power of attorney if my finances are well organised?
Good organisation helps, but it does not give anyone legal authority to act for you. If you lose capacity without an LPA in place, your family may need to apply to the Court of Protection, which takes time and costs money. A property and financial affairs LPA lets the person you choose manage your accounts and investments when you cannot.
Can you help with inheritance tax?
Yes. Protecting an estate is part of what we do, including inheritance tax planning, trusts and care fees. Williamson & Croft Wealth Management advises on the financial side, and we deal with the legal documents. On your consultation call we can talk about whether your estate is likely to need this kind of planning.
It all starts with one free call
You talk it through with a named member of our team. We tell you what you actually need and what it will cost, and nothing goes ahead until you are happy.

- STEP 1Pick a time that suits youChoose a slot in our calendar, including evenings and Saturdays. It takes a minute and there is no form to fill in first.
- STEP 2Get a few things togetherWe tell you what to have to hand. Usually the names and addresses of the people you want to appoint and inherit, and a rough idea of what you own.
- STEP 3Approve your draftOnce you are happy with what we discussed, we prepare a draft for you to read and approve before anything is signed.
