The partnership

Thornton Cleveleys FC and Will Solicitors

Thornton Cleveleys FC plays at the Fox Group Sports Arena on Gamble Road in Thornton Cleveleys, Lancashire. The first team was promoted to the North West Counties League Division One North in 2024, and the club runs three men's senior sides. It describes itself as a club for all the community, with teams from age 5 to open age, including a Ladies side, a soccer school, Wildcats and under 18 squads. It holds FA Community standard Chartered status and is affiliated to the Lancashire FA.

With teams from age 5 to open age, Thornton Cleveleys is really a club of families. Parents coach, grandparents watch and players move up through the ranks, and every one of them has someone to plan for. If you play for, coach at or follow the club, your first consultation call is free with no obligation. Our fees are fixed and published, from £150 + VAT for a single will or £275 + VAT for a pair of mirror wills, and you know the price before any work starts.

Why it matters

Looking after the people behind the club

A club with teams from age 5 to open age is really a club of families. Parents coach the juniors, grandparents watch from the rail and players move up through the ranks.

If you are one of those parents, a will lets you name guardians and decide how your home and savings are shared. If you are further along, you may be thinking about what you leave your grandchildren or about protecting your estate from care costs. A lasting power of attorney sits alongside a will, giving someone you trust the authority to act if you cannot.

Your questions

Questions from Thornton Cleveleys supporters

Cannot see yours? Ask it on your free consultation call.

I volunteer at Thornton Cleveleys FC most weekends. How much time does this take?

Very little of your time. You book a consultation call at a time that suits you, and the adviser does the drafting afterwards. You then read the draft and approve it or ask for changes. The fee is confirmed on the call before any work starts, so there are no surprises.

Can I leave money to my grandchildren in my will?

Yes. You can leave gifts to grandchildren directly or through a trust, so the money is managed until they reach an age you choose. This can help with things like university or a first home. Your adviser will explain the options and how to keep things fair between different branches of the family.

I am worried about care fees eating into my estate. Can you help?

We can talk this through on your consultation call. There are lawful ways to plan, for example how you and a partner own your home and how your wills are structured, but what is right depends on your situation. Your adviser will explain the general options so you can decide what suits you.

What happens if I die without a will?

Your estate is shared under fixed rules called the intestacy rules. These may not match your wishes. An unmarried partner gets nothing automatically, and children under 18 would inherit at 18 with no say from you. The court may also need to decide who looks after them. A will avoids all of this.

Getting started

It all starts with one free call

You talk it through with a named member of our team. We tell you what you actually need and what it will cost, and nothing goes ahead until you are happy.
