NCT and Will Solicitors
NCT, the National Childbirth Trust, is the UK charity for pregnancy and early parenthood. It was founded in 1956 by Prunella Briance and took its current name in 1961. NCT runs antenatal courses, a New Baby course, Baby and Child First Aid and infant feeding support, alongside local Bumps and Babies groups that help new parents meet others nearby. It says it supported over 250,000 people last year, with the aim that everyone who becomes a parent feels confident, connected and safe.
We have teamed up with NCT because becoming a parent is the moment a will matters most. It is how you choose who would raise your child. As an NCT member, your first consultation call is free and there is no obligation. Our fees are fixed and published, from £150 + VAT for a single will or £275 + VAT for a pair of mirror wills, and you know the price before any work starts. If you would like to remember NCT in your will, we write the gift in for you.
Looking after the people behind the organisation
Becoming a parent changes what a will needs to do. Before, it was mostly about money and belongings.
Now it is about who would raise your baby if the worst happened. Only a will lets you name a guardian, and without one a court may have to decide. New parents also often buy a bigger home, take out life cover or start saving for their child, and a will makes sure all of that reaches them in the right way, often through a simple trust until they are older. It is one more thing on a long list, but it takes a single call to start and gives real peace of mind.
How we can help you and your family
Every service starts with the same free consultation call.

Questions from NCT members and families
Cannot see yours? Ask it on your free consultation call.
We have just had a baby. When should we make our wills?
As soon as you reasonably can. A new baby is the moment most parents realise they have no guardian named. Mirror wills for a couple are a common choice, and the fee is fixed and confirmed on your free consultation call. Your adviser can work around feeds and naps.
How do we choose a guardian for our child?
Think about who shares your values, who your child knows, and who has the time and energy to bring them up. Many parents also name a back up. It is worth asking the person first. Your adviser can talk through the practical side, such as how money left for your child is managed.
I met other parents through NCT. Can they book too?
Yes. The partnership is open to NCT members and the parents NCT supports, so friends from your antenatal course or local group can book their own free consultation call. Each family gets its own named adviser and its own fixed fee, confirmed before any work starts.
Is an LPA worth thinking about as a new parent?
It can be. A lasting power of attorney lets someone you trust manage your money or make care decisions if illness or an accident leaves you unable to. With a mortgage and a young family depending on you, knowing bills would still be paid is a real reassurance.
It all starts with one free call
You talk it through with a named member of our team. We tell you what you actually need and what it will cost, and nothing goes ahead until you are happy.

- STEP 1Pick a time that suits youChoose a slot in our calendar, including evenings and Saturdays. It takes a minute and there is no form to fill in first.
- STEP 2Get a few things togetherWe tell you what to have to hand. Usually the names and addresses of the people you want to appoint and inherit, and a rough idea of what you own.
- STEP 3Approve your draftOnce you are happy with what we discussed, we prepare a draft for you to read and approve before anything is signed.
