Altrincham Grammar School for Boys and Will Solicitors
Altrincham Grammar School for Boys, often called AGSB, is a selective grammar school on Marlborough Road in Bowdon, Altrincham. It teaches boys from age 11 right through to 18, with its own sixth form. The school is part of the Hamblin Education Trust. AGSB describes its aim as an outstanding, all round education for boys, and it names four core values: a love of learning, respect, responsibility and resilience. It also puts weight on diversity, inclusion and pastoral care, so that boys are supported as people as well as students.
We work with AGSB because the parents who plan so carefully for exams, university and a first job also need a will that names a guardian and decides when their son inherits. As an AGSB parent, your first consultation call with us is free and there is no obligation. Our fees are fixed and published, from £150 + VAT for a single will or £275 + VAT for a pair of mirror wills, and you know the price before any work starts.
Looking after the people behind the school
Parents of AGSB boys are often thinking years ahead: exams, university, a first job. A will is part of that same planning.
Until your son turns 18, your will is where you name the guardian who would care for him if you could not. It is also where you decide when he would inherit. Without a will, children can inherit outright at 18, which may be earlier than you would like for a lump sum. A trust in your will lets you choose a later age and pick people you trust to manage the money until then. A lasting power of attorney sits alongside it, so someone can act for you if you are ever unable to.

Questions from AGSB parents
Cannot see yours? Ask it on your free consultation call.
My son at AGSB is nearly 18. Do I still need to name a guardian?
Guardianship only applies until a child turns 18, so for an older boy it matters less as each year passes. If you have younger children too, it still matters for them. For a son approaching 18, the bigger question is usually money: at what age he should inherit, and who should look after it for him until then. We can talk that through on your consultation call.
Can I make sure my children inherit later than 18?
Yes. Your will can leave your estate on trust, with trustees you choose managing it until your children reach an age you set, such as 21 or 25. The trustees can usually still release money for things like university costs. Without a will, the general rule is that children inherit outright at 18. Your adviser will explain the options in plain terms before anything is drafted.
How do AGSB families get started?
Book a consultation call at a time that suits you. You talk things through with a named adviser, who confirms the fixed fee before any work starts. Single wills start from £150 + VAT and mirror wills for a couple from £275 + VAT. You then approve a draft before anything is signed, and there is no obligation after the first call.
It all starts with one free call
You talk it through with a named member of our team. We tell you what you actually need and what it will cost, and nothing goes ahead until you are happy.

- STEP 2Get a few things togetherWe tell you what to have to hand. Usually the names and addresses of the people you want to appoint and inherit, and a rough idea of what you own.
- STEP 3Approve your draftOnce you are happy with what we discussed, we prepare a draft for you to read and approve before anything is signed.
