The Robins. Founded 1891, home at Moss Lane.

The partnership

Altrincham FC and Will Solicitors

Altrincham FC was founded in 1891 and plays its home games at the J. Davidson Stadium on Moss Lane. Known as the Robins, the club competes in the National League, the fifth tier of English football. Away from match days, its charity, the Alty FC Foundation, runs sport, education, health and wellbeing work across Trafford, including disability sport, holiday activities and employability programmes. Its community work reaches people across Trafford and the surrounding area.

We have teamed up with the club because the families who fill Moss Lane on a Saturday are the same families who need a will they can rely on. As a Robins supporter, your first consultation call with us is free and there is no obligation. Our fees are fixed and published, from £150 + VAT for a single will or £275 + VAT for a pair of mirror wills, and you know the price before any work starts.

Why it matters

Looking after the people behind the club

Plenty of Robins fans have followed the club for decades and now have homes, savings and grown up children of their own. Others bring their young families to Moss Lane every other Saturday.

Either way, the people you care about deserve clarity. A will lets you choose who inherits, name guardians for children under 18 and pick executors you trust. A lasting power of attorney lets someone you choose handle your money or health decisions if you ever cannot. Without these, the law decides for you, and families can face delay and cost at an already hard time. Sorting it now takes one consultation call.

Your questions

Questions from Robins supporters

I am an Altrincham FC season ticket holder. How do I get started?

Book a free consultation call at a time that suits you, whether that is a weekday evening or a quiet morning before a home game. A named adviser will ask about your family, your home and your wishes, then explain your options and the fixed fee. Nothing goes ahead until you are happy, and you approve a draft before anything is signed.

My partner and I want the same arrangements. Do we need two separate wills?

Most couples choose mirror wills. These are two wills with matching wishes, usually leaving everything to each other first and then to children or other family. Mirror wills start from £275 plus VAT for the pair. Your adviser will check that mirror wills suit your situation, for example if either of you has children from an earlier relationship.

Can I leave something to someone outside my family, like a friend from the terraces?

Yes. A will can include gifts to anyone you choose, whether that is a friend, a godchild or a charity close to your heart. You can leave a fixed sum, a specific item or a share of what remains. Your adviser will help you word gifts clearly so there is no doubt about what you meant.

Is a lasting power of attorney only for older people?

No. An accident or sudden illness can affect anyone at any age. A lasting power of attorney lets you choose who manages your finances or makes health decisions if you lose capacity. Without one, your family may need to apply to the court, which is slower and costs more. Many people arrange their LPAs at the same time as their will.
